What’s all this, then?

The work you are reading, have read, or will read is an assignment for one of my courses at Duke University. All the opinions expressed here are my own.

I spend most of my waking hours around teenagers, learning about them and myself, and actively thinking about why we emote and produce art the way we do. In order to get a firmer grasp on that very topic, I have decided to take advantage of my placement within Durham Public Schools, and devise a series of questions, to  be delivered in a casual interview format, that will hopefully reveal, to me, to you, and to the students themselves, something meaningful about their beliefs, habits and preconceptions about that most polarizing of skills/hobbies/academic subjects: writing. My aim was to investigate some of the beliefs and habits of young writers, and to explicate those beliefs and habits online in a way that took advantages of the many affordances of the web. Students’ images were used with the express written consent of their parents or guardians.

If you have any questions about me or my endeavor, please do not hesitate to leave a comment.

Happy reading!
